What Is Digital Optometrics?
DigitalOptometrics has developed new optical software which permits patients at an optical location to receive a comprehensive eye health examination to be performed by a licensed optometrist. The capabilities of a live remote video conference between the optometrist and patient and remote operation of optical equipment is utilized. The result is a complete eye health examination with subjective visual findings by an optometrist followed by the delivery of an accurate prescription to the patient for the correction of vision within minutes of the examination conclusion. DigitalOptometrics utilizes new advancements in technology making comprehensive eye exams conducted by an optometrist convenient to patients.
What will I experience during the comprehensive eye exam?
The exam will begin with a visual pre screening performed by a skilled optician which includes an autorefraction of your eyes, determination of your current eyeglass prescription, photos of the front and back of your eyes along with a screening test for glaucoma. A remote based ophthalmic technician will then perform a refraction with a phoropter while conversing with you by a live remote video conference unit. All the information will then be delivered to a licensed optometrist who will review and discuss the exam findings with you and answer your questions by live video conferencing. The doctor will then finalize your prescription.

What occurs if the doctor observes a health condition in my eye?
We are affiliated with several Ophthalmologists in close proximity. The doctor will refer the patient to an Ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, dry eye, retina, cataract, or specialty contact lens fits.
